The minister of environmental protection, Sara Pavkov, has visited Apatin, where the preparatory works for the construction of a plant for the treatment of municipal waste waters have started. This project, which is part of the green initiative, aims to have technically sound water, instead of polluting waste waters, being let into the recipient.

The plant, as said, will have a water treatment capacity for 20,000 equivalent residents, which will fully solve the problem of the pollution caused by an inadequate letting of municipal waste waters into the surrounding waterflows. The plant will use the already built sewer network in Apatin, enabling the optimal functioning of the system.

The works on the construction of the facility will be completed by May 2026, and the preparatory works for the continuation of the implementation of this project are in progress too.

As announced earlier, the value of this investment is EUR 10 million.
