Construction of new international pier on Sava, near Branko’s Bridge, planned – Spaces also reserved for gondola and mast

The construction of a new international passenger pier for the needs of the EXPO 2027 exhibition is planned on the Sava riverside in Belgrade, near Branko’s Bridge.

This can be seen from the Urban Planning Project for infrastructural equipping of water land in zone ZP6, in block 15, KO Novi Beograd, which the Secretariat for Urban Planning and Construction Affairs of the City of Belgrade put on public presentation until April 24.

The investor of the project is the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency.

As stated in the document prepared by the Urban Planning Institute of Belgrade, the construction of an international passenger pier, as one of the infrastructural facilities within the EXPO 2027 international exhibition, is planned on the left bank of the Sava River in the stretch from Branko’s Bridge to the confluence of the Sava and the Danube.

The boundary of the Urban Planning Project includes the coastal zone between the water area of the Sava River and Usce Street in the stretch from Branko’s Bridge to the sewage pumping station "Usce", as well as the cadastral plot 1026/6 with the vehicular and pedestrian path that surrounds it.

The total area of the plan is about 9.03 ha.

The project also mentions the long-announced mast at Usce, 80 meters high according to the plan - it is stated that the project also plans to build a parking lot for 12 buses and 75 passenger cars, in the northernmost part of the plot, in the area planned for the mast with the flag of the Republic of Serbia.

The project also mentions pillars for the future gondola (cable car). It is stated that the solution for that facility was taken from the Detailed Regulation Plan for the Kalemegdan-Usce gondola.
