Greek "EFG Eurobank" invests 40 million EUR in its banks in Serbia

Director General of Greek banking group "EFG Eurobank", Stavros Joanu, said that about 40 million EUR would be soon invested in each of its two banks in Serbia, EFG and National Savings Bank.

The money should arrive in one month after the approval is received from the National Bank of Serbia. Joanu added that the merging of EFG and National Savings Bank, which was recently bought by EFG bank, would be completed by the end of the year 2006.

In 2005, these two banks approved credits worth 122 million EUR to the clients in Serbia, so that the total credit growth against the year 2004 amounted to 270%.
