Vucic: EU to pronounce Jadar its strategic project outside Union countries in seven days

The European Union (EU) will pronounce Jadar, the project of lithium mining in Serbia, its strategic project outside EU countries, in seven or eight days, stated the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, in Brussels.

After a work dinner with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, Vucic said that “those who were glad” that the Jadar project is not on the list of the strategic projects of the EU “were too quick.”

– Those people are not stupid, they are just malicious and a little illiterate and they are always rushing. They don’t know that only the projects that are in the EU have been mentioned. And in seven or eight days, the EU will pronounce Jadar its strategic project outside EU countries – said Vucic.

Yesterday, the European Commission for the first time determined the list of 47 strategic projects which aim to stimulate local capacities for strategic raw materials, whereby the European raw materials value chain will be strengthen and the supply sources diversified.
