KfW considering financing of reconstruction of heating pipeline network in Nis – Project worth EUR 5 million

Representatives of KfW, the development bank of Germany, have visited the PUE Gradska toplana in Nis and talked with the management of this company about the project of the reconstruction of the heating pipeline network in the length of four kilometers, announced Gradska toplana.

As the acting director of the Nis Heating Plan, Zivojin Vasic, stated, the value of this project is around EUR 5 million, and its financing entails considerable support from KfW.

– If we are part of this project, we will get a grant of 30%, whereas the remaining 70% will be financed from a loan under the most favorable conditions, with a five-year grace period and a repayment period of ten years – said Tasic.

He emphasized that the project was of extreme importance for increasing the energy efficiency of the Nis Heating Plant.

– So far, we have reconstructed 50 kilometers of the heating pipeline network with pre-insulated pipes, whereas another 25 kilometers remains. With this project, we will reduce the part of the network that needs to be reconstructed in the next period – added the acting director.

The visit of the representatives of the German development bank is part of a wider program of support to energy efficiency and modernization of central heating in Serbia.
