NIS to pay first coupon for corporate bonds

NIS has announced that the first coupon of issue I of corporate bonds that they issued on December 19 last year is due on March 21.

– In accordance with the rules of conduct of the Central Securities Depository and Clearing House, the right to the payment of the interest coupon belongs to legal owners of the Bonds which are registered as such on the work day before the payment day – it is pointed out on the portal of the Central Securities Depository and Clearing House (CRHoV).

Let us remind that, in the December transaction, NIS collected RSD 1.87 billion by placing 187,161 bonds with an individual value of RSD 10,000, that is, slightly over 30 percent of the issue, whose total value amounted to RSD 5.85 billion.

The earnings for investors based on the interest, that is, the coupon, after the deduction of the income tax, to the minimum amount of investment of EUR 100,000 are expected to amount to EUR 5,520 a year or EUR 27,600 for a period of five years.

The period of the bond issue is five years, and the issue is indexed in euros, with a yield of 6.5 percent a year, with quarterly coupon payments.

In its announcement, NIS invites members of CRHoV, that is, banks, investment funds and brokerage houses to submit adequate confirmations of residence and proof of the actual owners of the income by March 17, 2025, at the latest, for the purpose of calculating the tax on income from the capital and the tax from the profit that is realized by the owners of their corporate bonds.

– For the owners of the bonds for which data and proof of actual owners of the income have not been submitted, NIS a.d. Novi Sad will calculate, stop and pay the tax in accordance with the tax rate envisaged by the current regulations of the Republic of Serbia – the announcement says.

Those data are submitted to the brokerage house Dunav Stockbroker, which is the agent of the emission of the corporate bonds of NIS.
