French company "Somessim" from Paris, which is known to Serbian public since 2004 when it bought deserted magnesium mine "Bela stena" near Baljevac on the Ibar, intends to invest another 30 million EUR in Serbian economy prior to the end of 2006 and to employ about 2,500 workers.

According to the words of Milan Dvojaković, president of that French company, "Somessim" should soon sign the contract in the premises of the Privatization Agency of Serbia on procurement of Majdanpek-based Metal Processing Industry (IPM), which operates in the makeup of Mining-Smelting Basin Bor.

- We offered 4.8 million EUR for procurement of IPM, the investments worth 2 million EUR and we also took over the old debt of nearly 3 million EUR. We provided about 50,000 carats of precious stones for start of production in IMP's unit "Zlatara" and signed export contracts with the partners from France, Germany and Italy - Dvojaković explains.
