Wizz Air brings back fourth plane to Belgrade base – Two new routes to Germany and Spain

Wizz Air has announced further expansion of its Belgrade base with two new routes, supported by the addition of a state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft in the summer of 2025, marking a total of four Airbus aircraft in the Belgrade base.

– This continuous investment reflects Wizz Air’s commitment to the Serbian market. This growth supports Wizz Air’s ambitious “WIZZ 500” strategy and aims to greatly increase connectivity between Serbia and other countries both in Europe and beyond, while providing more budget friendly travel options with more than 600 thousand seats for the upcoming summer. Belgrade is of high importance to Wizz Air, and it is excited to continue its expansion, adding up to 1 million seats for sale to and from Serbia per year – they announced.

They add that the new Airbus A321neo aircraft, set to join the Serbian fleet on May 23, 2025, will add two more routes to Bodensee (Friedrichshafen airport) from June 2 and Alicante from June 3, and enhance existing connectivity with increased frequencies on seven of Wizz Air’s routes from Belgrade. Tickets are already on sale, with fares starting from as low as EUR 29.99.

– We are proud to lead the Serbian market with almost 70% market share among low-cost airlines and thrilled to bring back our fourth aircraft to the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. This expansion will increase frequencies on seven existing routes and offer an additional 119 thousand seats, increasing the capacity almost with 24% compared to the summer of 2024, enhancing travel options for passengers this summer. Beyond travel opportunities, this growth contributes to the Serbian economy by creating jobs and supporting local tourism – said Roland Tischner, Managing Director Wizz Air Hungary.

Today, Wizz Air operates a network of 22 low-fare routes in Serbia, connecting passengers to 25 destinations across 13 countries. The airline now employs more than 150 employees in Serbia.
