Srpska kuća (Serbian house) in Moscow, of which construction should start by the end of the year 2006, will not be either a classic trade center or a department store.

In the south part of the Russian capital, on the lot of about 2 ha, a business building will be constructed with the offices intended for contracting of deals between the businessmen and companies of the two countries.

At the moment, the commencement of works is postponed only because of the procedure. The construction workers are left to wait for the building permit to be issued by Moscow's city planners.

- The location is neither great, nor bad. Anyway, there should not be any retail space, because that part of the city does not belong to the trade zone - says Milivoje Zečević, the owner of Moscow-based building company “Sivas”, which operates in Russia for 15 years and will, according to the contract signed with the Ministry of Trade of Serbia, be the contractor and the investor of building “Srpska kuća”.

- The idea for construction of business facility in Russia existed before, but there was no money. Our intention is to take a loan and build a facility on about 80,000 square meters. The major part of that space would have commercial purpose. The offices would be offered to both domestic and foreign companies. In that way, the investment would be remunerative, so that about 7,000 square meters of office space worth about 7 million EUR would be alloted to the Government of Serbia free of charge - says Zečević.
