Kragujevac initiating concession for pharmacies, offering 13 facilities to private partners

The City of Kragujevac has published a public invitation to entrust a concession for the performance of pharmaceutical health activities at the primary level in the territory of Kragujevac and five surrounding municipalities – Batocina, Lapovo, Raca, Topola and Knic.

The concession is granted for a period of 15 years, with the concessionaire assuming the risk of commercial operations. The concessionaire will pay the concession fee, which includes the initial and the variable part, and after the expiration of the contract, the property will remain property of the city, and the offered initial concession fee cannot be lower than EUR 2.17 million.

As part of the concession, the private partner will receive the use of 13 real estate properties owned by the city, while an attempt will be made to ensure the continued use of another 15 facilities currently used by the Kragujevac Pharmacy Institution (Apotekarska ustanova Kragujevac).

The concessionaire is obliged to employ at least 77 pharmacists from Apoteka Kragujevac, with guaranteed working conditions in the first two years. Also, it will be obliged to sign contracts with the National Health Insurance Fund and ensure continuous availability of medicines and medical supplies.

Incidentally, the Kragujevac councilors gave their approval for the initiation of the procedure of the implementation of a public-private partnership project with elements of a concession for the performance of pharmaceutical health activities at the primary level in the territory of the city of Kragujevac and the territories where the Kragujevac Pharmacy Institution operates back in April 2023.
