Iskra plans to build a new 12,000 square meter production facility in Nova Topola, Bosnia, enhancing its production capabilities and creating new job opportunities, seenews.com reports. Last year, Iskra completed the construction of its factory in Laktasi.
The financial details of these two investment plans were not disclosed in the note.
As part of its plans for 2025, it also said it plans to equip its new plant in Bosnia with additional robotic lines to improve efficiency, as well as a plan to set up a new laboratory area equipped with advanced testing devices in Croatian cable producer Elka which it bought in May 2021.
Iskra also has other acquisition in Croatia. It took over the Sibenik ship repair yard in 2019, which now operates as Iskra Shipyard. In early 2024, Iskra acquired a majority stake in the Croatian electrical engineering company ELMAP, whereas in May 2024, Elka acquired a 50% stake in the Croatian manufacturer of round and profile wire for transformers and electrical motors Elkakon.
