United Group to invest EUR 120 million in green energy production

United Group has taken a major step into the production of green electricity with an initial EUR 120 million investment in Bulgaria. The project was presented at the United Group’s summit in Sofia. United Group’s goal is for 65% of its total electricity consumption to come from renewable sources.

– This investment of EUR 120 million is the beginning, perhaps other markets and other projects in Bulgaria will also follow – said Victoriya Boklag, CEO of United Group.

Together, these projects will produce310,000 MWh annually, she said, among other thing, and added that initially, the full supply with energy of the group’s operations in Bulgaria should come precisely from this source.

Aleksandra Subotic, CEO of United Media, which operates within United Group, has pointed out the importance of this investment for media production as well:

– We know that, of course, a lot is spent in production and the media sector. We all know that the use of artificial intelligence lies ahead, as well as various production tools. So, I’m very grateful that our creative industry will also be supported by this investment.
