The project includes three key components: infrastructure investments and asset management, institutional strengthening and project management and railway modernization enablers.
The planned activities encompass the procurement of heavy duty track maintenance machinery, repairs of workshop buildings, the procurement of monitoring equipment, as well as the realization of technical solutions for the rehabilitation of railroad lines. Special focus will be placed on the development of a strategy for logistics centers and the development of ticketing and business support systems for the national rail companies – Srbjiavoz and Srbija Kargo.
The project also entails the realization of the Integrated Territorial Development (ITD) pilot projects and the preparation of a business plan for rail stations in Serbia.
Procurement within this project, it is said, will be conducted in accordance with the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations, and it is open to all eligible firms and individuals as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
Specific procurement notices for contracts subject to open international competitive procurement will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business online, in Agence Française de Développement - dgMarket , on the official website of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, and in local newspapers.
