Banks in Serbia to close NIS’s accounts by February 26?

This was confirmed for the portal by a well-informed source who told them that, at the meeting between the governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) with the bankers which took place the day before, the representatives of the foreign banks had pointed out that they would close all the accounts of NIS and the related companies unless Russians exited the ownership structure by February 26.
Eight days before the announcement, the company had been put on the list of the sanctioned legal entities by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
The reason cited is the share of the Russian company Gazprom Neft in the ownership.
