Soon: Decision on who will build bridges near Beška - domestic or foreign contractors?

Prior to May 8, 2006, at the latest, it will be decided who will become the contractor for reconstruction of the existing and construction of new bridge - twin across the Danube near Beška.

Although many, including Government of Serbia, give support to "Mostogradnja", which offered the best price, London-based office of European Bank for Rehabilitation and Development (EBRD) is inexorable. Therefore, the meeting is schedulled with the representatives of that bank and "Mostogradna" with the hope that EBRD will, after all, decide for Serbian construction company.

However, if that doesn't happen, the Government of Serbia has information that both "Alpina", which is the second-ranked on the announced tender for this work, and "Vinči Construction", which is the fourth on the list, are ready to take "Mostogradnja" for subcontactor, if it is going to work at the price and by the project it offered on the tender.
