The minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, has stated that, so far, 28 countries have applied for participation in the specialized international exhibition EXPO, which will be held in Belgrade in 2027.

– The most countries so far at a specialized EXPO were in Astana (Kazakhstan) in 2017 – 117 countries. We want at least 120 or 130 – Mali said for TV Prva.

According to him, 28 countries confirmed participation only several weeks after Serbia officially picked up the flag of EXPO.

– That is much better than we expected. Never in our history have we been hosts to such a big event and never again will we be hosts to such a high number of countries over such a long period of time. We expect three to four million visitors – said the finance minister.

He said that the Serbia 2027 program entailed 323 projects throughout the country, worth nearly EUR 18 billion.
