Serbia to get Starlink next year

Montenegro and Serbia should get the Starlink satellite internet by the company Space X next year.

After Elon Musk announced that the territory of Kosovo and Metohija would get SpaceX’s satellite internet Starlink, the company updated its coverage map.

According to what can be seen, nearly the entire Europe is covered with Stalink’s internet. Ukraine, especially since the beginning of the war and the Russian aggression, has a somewhat specific status, considering that Musk has allowed the use of Starlink in this country, but without clearly defined contracts with the country.

What is certain is that, in these two years, Starlink has been used by both Ukrainian and Russian soldiers for military purposes, writes Klix.ba.

When it comes to Turkey, according to Starlink’s information, SpaceX is waiting for the regulator’s approval for use in this country.

The three countries in Europe which are still without Starlink are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. However, for Montenegro and Serbia, the waiting should stop next year, given that it has been announced that Starlink will become available in these two countries in 2025.

– The authorization of Starlink has the biggest influence on increasing national security, especially in times of conflict. That is due to the fact that a large majority of Starlink’s infrastructure is located in space and that it is invulnerable to potential wartime or natural disaster damage. On the ground, the Starlink terminal has a view to several space satellites simultaneously, which further increases the availability of the service – the officials said.

After these two countries get Starlink, in the Balkans, Bosnia and Herzegovina will remain the only country with the still undefined status when it comes to Starlink.
