Passport control in 12 seconds – Electronic gates put into operation at Belgrade Airport

At the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, the electronic gate (e-gate) system has been launched. It is a system which will reduce the time required for passport control to a maximum of 12 to 15 seconds, stated the minister of the interior, Ivica Dacic.

As he explained, the passengers first scan their biometric passports at the initial gate, and at the second gate, the system checks for any issues, which all takes between 12 and 15 seconds.
