VentureLAB and Serbian science-technology parks sign memorandum – Cooperation in field of technological development, innovation and support for startups to follow

VentureLAB from Canada and science-technology parks from Serbia have signed the Memorandum of Understanding, which aims to establish cooperation in the field of technological development, innovation and support for startups. VentureLAB is an organization which helps develop startups and global multinational companies and is part of one of the biggest technological communities in Canada.

The minister of science, technological development and innovation of Serbia, Jelena Begovic, who attended, together with the ambassador of Canada to Belgrade, Michelle Cameron, the signing of the memorandum, estimated that Serbia was becoming a center for the advancement of IT technologies and pointed out that Canada was a good partner that could prepare Serbian startups for a demanding and developed market.

– We will work on our startups going to Canada, but also theirs coming here so that we could learn from them. We will enable for the Serbian startup community opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences for the purpose of the strengthening of the startup ecosystem – said the minister.

She concluded that the cooperation between Serbia and Canada could also be an excellent opportunity for talent exchange programs, as well as for multicultural cooperation which would contribute to global progress.

Cameron congratulated Begovic on the successful organization of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Summit and highlighted its striving for inclusivity and Serbia’s success in the sphere of information and telecommunications technologies.

– The signing of the memorandum marks the beginning of intensive cooperation between Serbia and Canada, which will take place at the academic, intergovernmental and business levels – the ambassador said.

The memorandum was signed by the director of the Science-Technology Park (STP) Belgrade, Gordana Danilovic, the director of the STP Nis, Milan Randjelovic, the director of the STP Cacak, Darko Vasilic, and the director of the STP Novi Sad, Srdjan Kolakovic.
