Serbian Government Has Signed Agreement with "Swarovski" - Austrian crystal manufacturer to invest € 15 million

The Serbian government had adopted the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Austrian prestigious investor "Swarovski" at their Assembly yesterday, which should be signed officially in the coming period, as it was announced by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.
Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and the Agency for Investment and Export Promotion (SIEPA) have participated in negotiations with the mentioned company, in cooperation with the Asutrain Embassy.
"Swarovski" is willing to invest 15 million euros in the first phase in Subotica and to include the basic production (processing, packaging and combining of crystals) which will be used in export.
Also, there is a possibility that the investment might be expanded in the second phase, which means increased investments in Serbia.
"Swarovski International Holding AG" with headquarters in Switzerland produces crystal jewelry and decorative figurines and crystals for fashion industry and chandeliers.
The holding company, which employs nearly 24 840 workers in 120 countries worldwide, made in 2009 a turnover of 2.25 billion euros, as it said in the announcement.
