The consortium consisting of four companies, Karin komerc MD, Sani eko vita, Rakakop and NS skver gradnja, is the new owner of the state company Jugoslovensko recno brodarstvo. The value of the signed agreement is EUR 10.9 million, which was also the starting price for the sale of the capital.

The purchaser has the obligation to invest EUR 2 million in the next two years, as well as to maintain the continuity of business operations. The obligation of the new owner is also not to reduce the number of employees in the next two years and to regularly pay the salaries, says the Agreement published by the Ministry of Economy.

The initial price for the sale of the capital was EUR 10,9 million, which was 50% of the estimated value of the capital of Jugoslovensko recno brodarstvo as of December 31, 2023. Let us remind that, at the previous public bidding, the initial price was 100% of the estimated value of the capital, that is, EUR 21,824,311.07. This sale was pronounced unsuccessful as there were no interested purchasers.

Let us remind that, in July, the competent ministry initiated the privatization of Jugoslovensko recno brodarstvo at a price of EUR 29.2 million and that the public call was canceled only two days later.

JRB has a long tradition of cargo transport on inland waterways. Their site says that the company belongs to the group of the five biggest shipping companies on the Danube, whereas, when it comes to international transport on inland waterways, it is by far the first in Serbia.

The main activity of JRB is cargo transport on inland waterways.

Since 2010, JRB has been owned by the state, following the termination of the contract on the sale of that company to the company EDDSG. According to the 2017 data, it employed over 300 workers.
