CCIS and Relio to bring leading world accelerators to Belgrade

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) and the Swiss-Serbian startup Relio will soon bring to Belgrade the world’s biggest accelerators which will enable for Serbian startups with a high potential for growth in the global market an easier and quicker access to financing from venture capital funds, announced Marko Cadez, the president of the CCIS, at the Panel “Economy Comes First” within the CEO Summit in Belgrade.

In a conversation with Lav Odorovic, a co-founder and the CEO of Relio and the honorary representative of the CCIS in Switzerland, Cadez said that the manner of financing of the economy had changed considerably in the world and that, nowadays, small businesses from small countries could be global “players”, with capital available from VC funds.

– Although, globally and locally, the system is quite bank-centric, VC funds enable small innovative companies to be formed. It is no longer enough to have just the space and the money, it is necessary to enable conditions for startups for their ideas to be realized in the market – said Cadez, as announced on the CCIS website.

That is why, he adds, the CCIS and Relio will bring to Belgrade known world accelerators whose aim is to help local startups to accelerate their development, prepare for investments and strengthen their business models.

Lav Odorovic says that, in Serbia, there are more and more VC funds which are important for the financing of startups and points out that the arrival of known incentive and development programs will additionally support the growth of Serbian innovative companies.
