Construction of solar power plants planned in five locations in Sremska Mitrovica

The City of Sremska Mitrovica is on its way to a considerable improvement of its capacities for the use of renewable energy sources through the construction of five new solar power plants. This project will double the energy capacities that the city gets from renewable sources, and solar power plants will be located in the areas of Sremska Mitrovica, Sasinci, Ravnje and Lacarak.

The plan includes the construction of five solar power plants, including projects such as Sirmium Sun in Sasinci, Sunoleo SM in Sremska Mitrovica, Milica Solar in Ravanj, as well as Okopi and Nase Sunce 1 and 2 in Lacarak.

These power plants will have an estimated power of up to 10 MW and be equipped with facilities for the storage of electrical energy.

The City of Sremska Mitrovica has started the process of the preparation of the detailed regulation plans for new solar power plants. After the successful completion of the public inspection, the City Assembly of Sremska Mitrovica supported the proposed plans. This decision opens the door to a further phase of the project, which includes the preparation of the final projects, the obtaining of the necessary permits and other necessary works.
