Year-on-year inflation in Serbia in September at 4.2%, month-on-month 0.1%

Inflation in Serbia, measured by prices of goods and services used for personal consumption, in September 2024 in relation to August 2024 increased by 0.1%, on average. Consumer prices in September 2024 increased by 4.2% in relation to September 2023, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.


Consumer prices in September 2024 in relation to December 2023 increased by 3.3%.

Observed by main groups according to the destination of consumption, in September 2024 in relation to the previous month, increase of prices was noted in the groups Restaurants and hotels (1.3%), Food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.2%), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.8%), in the groups Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, Health and Education (each by 0.3%) and in the group Communication (0.1%).

Decrease of prices was noted in the groups Recreation and culture (-3.0%), Transport (-1.6%) and Clothing and footwear (-0.2%).
