Energoprojekt-Hidroinzenjering has signed EUR 11.3 million worth of agreements for the construction of three dams in Algeria.
- The company is to design implementation projects, provides technical assistance and supervise the construction of dams Seklafa, Beni Slimane and Soubella - said Energoprojekt-Hidroinzenjering CEO MA Bratislav Stisovic.
The period for the completion of all works is set at 50 months.
CEO Stisovic points out that these jobs were won in a very strong international competition against about ten renowned companies from France, Canada, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Greece...
Since all three agreements are going to be implemented simultaneously, Energoprojekt-Hidroinzenjering plans to announce an open competition to supplement its supervisory teams with construction, geological, geotechnical, geodesic, mechanical and electrical engineers. The primary condition that candidates must meet is to have a specific experience in planning, supervising or building large hydrotechnical facilities, reads a statement issued by the company.
The trust the Algerian investor puts in Energoprojekt is a result of the continuity in high-quality provision of similar services over the last few years. Namely, construction of Chiffa dam (supervision and technical assistance) was finished in 2007, while the construction of Ourkiss dam (implementation project and supervision) is in its final phase.
Until the year's end at the latest, Energoprojekt-Hidroinzenjering is going to sign another two agreements with the same investor for the design of main projects and the preparation of tender documentation for dams Bouzina and Tarzout. The value of these two agreements is approximately EUR 1.7 million, whereas the period for their implementation is set at 15 months.
The significance of Algeria to the operations of Energoprojekt-Hidroinzenjering is best show by the information that the company has rendered nearly USD 14 billion worth of consulting services in that market over the last 10 years alone.
