For the first three months in 2006 in Serbia have been covered up incomes of 4.3 billions dinars or around 50 millions eur, and the tax inspection because of this made 360 complaints, stated Vladimir Ilic, director of Tax department of Serbia, adding that in this way the state looses from 5 to 10% of total public incomes per year.

He added that in the court procedure a major problem would be to proove the cover up and he made examples of 1.000 filed compalints out of which the courts brought 137 guilty verdicts, out of which only 3 persons were given non-conditional prison detention.

Ilic admitted that the problem was also in discovering and sanctioning criminal act of tax cover up, from which a large part goes on PDV, represents a fact that connected firms, that is original companies and their daughter-companies don't have the same tax number, but are also registered as separate bodies.
