Investment fund Altima which intended to take over 25% of Mercator shares by the price of 41.000 tolars per one share, took back its offer of taking over.
This informationa has been confirmed by Rock Rosman, director of the legal sector of the brocker house 'Ilirika', which is a legal representative of Altima.
"Altima succeeded in gathering only 25, that is 65.000 shares of Mercator. As its interest has been to get a quarter of Mercator's property, there hasn't been any sense in continuing with the purchase of shares, as the biggest owners - Istraben and Lasko seemed to keep a low profile, and small share holders didn't know how much their shares were really worth.", claims Rosman.
Rosman points out that connecting of Mercator with the Serbian company Rodic was not the reason for Altima's dropping out, but the finalization of Mercator's capitalization had been announced.
As written by Slovenian media, Altima doesn't think of the option of selling Mercator's shares, nor of the further purchasing, even if the prices go cheaper.
However, a few days ago has been announced a meeting of Altima's representatives and Association of small share holders, in order to consider on this gathering a possibility of joining, but also to determin the maximum price of shares for which Altima was ready to pay, as this fund, as claimed by some sources, has still not given up of the idea to get 255 of Mercator's shares.
