Serbia and France sign 12 agreements – Contract on Rafale aircraft among them

In the presence of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and President of France Emmanuel Macron, who is on a two-day visit to our country, 12 signed documents on cooperation between the two countries in several areas were exchanged at the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade.

Agreements in agriculture, ecology, construction, mining, the nuclear program, the purchase of Rafale aircraft, healthcare, science and technological development, tourism, telecommunications were signed, reports B92.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the government of Serbia and the French Development Agency (AFD) regarding mutual cooperation was exchanged by Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and ADF Director General Remy Rioux.

Annex 2 of the Agreement between the government of Serbia and the government of France on cooperation in the field of implementing priority projects in Serbia was exchanged by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Ambassador of the French Republic in Belgrade Pierre Cochard.

The tripartite partnership agreement under the auspices of the Fund for Technical Expertise and the Transfer of Experience between the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Serbia, the ADF and the Regional Center for Waste Management of the Paris Region was exchanged by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujovic and Vice President of the Regional Center for Waste Management of the Paris region Pascal Pelain.


Minister of Agriculture Aleksandar Martinovic and Ambassador of the French Republic in Belgrade Pierre Cochard exchanged a statement of intentions on cooperation in the agricultural and food sector of Serbia and France.

The agreement of interest between the Government of Serbia, SUEZ International SAS and Vinci Construction Grands Projects SA, in relation to the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant in Veliko Selo was exchanged by Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic and Deputy President and CEO of SUEZ Sabrina Soussan.

The statement of intentions between the government of Serbia and the inter-ministerial delegate for the strategic supply of ores and metals of France on partnership and cooperation in the field of research and exploitation of critical and strategic mineral raw materials was exchanged by Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic and Interministerial Delegate on Strategic Metals and Minerals Benjamin Gallezot.

The letter of engagement for the assessment of the potential for the development of the civilian nuclear program in Serbia as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between EDF and the Government of Serbia was exchanged by Minister Djedovic Handanovic and EDF Group Executive Director Xavier Ursat.

Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic and CEO and Chairman of Dassault Aviation Eric Trappier exchanged the contract for the procurement of Rafale aircraft and related goods and services.

Following the event, president Vucic said that the total value of the agreement was EUR 2.7 billion and that 12 entirely new planes would be purchased and that they would be owned by the Republic of Serbia. He added that that entailed a full logistics package.

– This will considerably contribute to the increase of the operating capabilities of our army, a whole new approach, and we are happy that we are becoming a member of the Rafale club and I am grateful to the president of France that he has made such a decision, which has enabled us to purchase new Rafale aircraft – said Vucic, as reported by RTS.

Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar and Healthcare Business Line Leader at Bouygues Batiment International Roberto Reale exchanged a letter of intent regarding the cooperation of the Ministry of Health with Bouygues Batiment International in the field of development of the Regional Institute for Oncology Radiology of Serbia.

The statement of intentions between Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation and Minister of Higher Education and Research and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty of France regarding cooperation in the field of science, research and innovation was exchanged by Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begovic and Ambassador of the French Republic in Belgrade Pierre Cochard.

The statement of intentions between Minister of Tourism and Youth and ministerial delegate in front of the Ministry of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, responsible for the affairs of economy, tourism and consumers of France on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed by the Minister of Tourism and Youth Husein Memic and French Ambassador Pierre Cochard.

The loan arrangement agreement between the Joint Stock Company Elektromreza Srbije Beograd (EMS) and the ADF was exchanged by EMS Director Jelena Matejic and ADF Director General Remy Rioux.

Palata Srbije, poznata po ranijem nazivu Palata Federacije i kolokvijalnom nazivu zgrada Saveznog izvršnog veća (SIV), nalazi se na Novom Beogradu, između Bulevara Mihajla Pupina i Bulevara Nikole Tesle. Izgrađena je 1959. za potrebe tadašnje Savezne vlade, odnosno Saveznog izvršnog veća. Svečano je otvorena 1961. povodom održavanja Prve konferencije šefova država i vlada Pokreta nesvrstanih.

Ideja o podizanju palate, kao jednog od najvažnijih državnih objekata u godinama neposredno posle Drugog svetskog rata, vremenski se poklapa sa počekom izgradnje novog grada na levoj obali Save, koji je trebalo da preuzme ulogu prestonice nove socijalističke države.Prema uslovima konkursa koji je raspisan 1947. Palata je shvaćena ne samo kao arhitektonski, već i kao urbanistički reper čitavog budućeg Novog Beograda.

U periodu od 1992. do 2003. bila je sedište Savezne vlade Savezne Republike Jugoslavije, a od 2003. do 2006. sedište Saveta ministara Državne zajednice Srbije i Crne Gore. Istovremeno, u ovoj zgradi je svoju kancelariju imao predsednik SFRJ Josip Broz Tito, predsednici Predsedništva SFRJ, predsednici SRJ, te jedini predsednik SCG Svetozar Marović. Posle raspada SCG, maja 2006, zgrada je prešla u nadležnost Vlade Republike Srbije. (Wikipedia)
