NALED works with the Portuguese in waterpower engineering sector - Companies from the Iberian Peninsula interested in building mini hydroelectric power plants in Serbia

The National Agency for Local Economic Development (NALED) announced that it would apply together with the Portuguese Water Association for grants from the EU funds for waterpower engineering projects.

A Memorandum of Cooperation that the two sides signed envisages that the money obtained in that way should be invested in waters and the waterpower engineering sector in municipalities in Serbia.

- One of the goals of the Portuguese investment mission is to help local communities to efficiently prepare their projects, as well as to teach them how to provide money from funds and get loans from international finance institutions for water supply and water treatment projects in cities and municipalities of Serbia - said Vladimir Cupic, chairman of the NALED Managing Board.

During the past three days, representatives of seven companies from Portugal and the Portuguese Water Association had meetings with representatives of Srbija Vode, Beograd Vode, the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Waterpower Engineering, and the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.
