After years of experience with ordering various goods through AliExpress, since recently, e-commerce has been available to users in Serbia through another Chinese platform – Temu. Temu appeared in 2022, and since May this year, it has also been available in the Serbian market, with a limited offer and free delivery for all products. The company Temu, a member of PDD Holding, invests a lot of money in advertising, but also constantly lowers the prices in order to attract purchasers who order products directly from China.

And while Temu has been a real sensation among Serbian users and become a media topic, but also the topic of conversations between purchasers exchanging experiences regarding the speed of the delivery and the appearance of the goods delivered, also leading to comparisons with AliExpress, another platform which is popular in America and Europe will soon be available to them.

This is the Chinese platform Shein.

That will be made possible with the bilateral agreement that the Post of Serbia signed with the Hungarian Post on August 14.

At the Post of Serbia, they say for Euronews Srbija that the agreement enables the arrival of a larger number of deliveries and a quicker transfer of package deliveries, with goods that the citizens of Serbia will order through another Chinese platform – Shein.

– For the users, this means a quicker and easier delivery of goods, which will be delivered to the users’ addresses within 72 hours, following the completion of the customs supervision procedure – the Post of Serbia says.

Since 2022, Shein has become the biggest global retailer of fast fashion. The platform was founded in 2008 by Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu or Sky Xu, who started out not in the field of fashion or retail, but IT.

According to the available data, he worked as a search engine optimization expert in a digital marketing company which cooperated with exporters.

He initially called his company Sheinside, but shortened the name to Shein in 2014.

The apparel for Shein is produced by a network of Chinese textile companies, and everything made is exported.

Shein offers deliveries in over 200 countries of the world.
