Norma Group opens factory of automobile parts in Subotica - Entire production destined for export

Germany's Norma Group opened Friday (October 7, 2011) a factory of automobile parts in Subotica, in which EUR 11.2 million have been invested.

The factory employs 45 workers and, according to the company's plan, a total of 327 workers will be hired within the next two years.

As it was announced at the opening ceremony, this is Norma Group's first factory in Serbia and the 17th factory in the world, and it will be producing joints, links and fluid pipes for vehicles.

The entire production from the Subotica-based factory will be exported, and the value of annual exports from this factory will reach about EUR 40 million once the production starts operating at full capacity.

The German company has obtained EUR 1.5 million worth of investment incentives from the Serbian Ministry of Economy.

The factory was opened by Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic, Vojvodina Prime Minister Bojan Pajtic, Subotica Mayor Sasa Vucinic, President of the United Regions of Serbia Mladjan Dinkic, German Ambassador Wolfram Maas, and members of the management of Norma Group.

Norma Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors of car parts for Volkswagen, Audi, Peugeout, and Citroen.

An agreement on the construction of Norma Group's factory in Subotica was signed in September 2010, and the city administration allotted a building land to the German company for free.

Norma Group currently owns plants in Poland and Czech Republic and employs a total of 3,400 people.
