First civilian aircraft lands at airport near Kraljevo

The first civilian aircraft landed today at the airport Morava near Kraljevo, thus marking the beginning of use of this military airport as a mixed-use military and civilian airport.
Among the passengers on the 30-minute flight were Serbian President Boris Tadic, Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and Minister of Economy and Development Nebojsa Ciric.
The ceremony of the landing of the first civilian aircraft at Morava Airport was attended by General Miloje Miletic, chief of the General Staff of the Army of Serbia, Nikola Stankov, chairmen of the Managing Board of the Flight Control Agency of Serbia and Montenegro, Velimir Radosavljevic, director general of Nikola Tesla Airport, and Vladimir Ognjenovic, acting director general of Jat.
The Serbian government made a conclusion in August 2010 on the adoption of the investment program for the conversion of Ladjevci Airport, now called Morava, from military to a mixed-use airport.
After airports in Nis and Belgrade, it will be the third airport in Serbia to have international characteristics. As it was announced earlier, over 50 people will get a job at Morava Airport in the first months of its operations, whereas over 150 people from this part of Serbia will be employed once the second phase of the project is completed.
