Implementation of winter tires regulation postponed

- Implementation of the regulation on the use of winter tires on all four wheels will be postponed for one year. In the forthcoming winter season, drivers will have an obligation to fit tires with a tread depth of over four millimeters on the drive axle only - Dragan Jovanovic, assistant minister for roads and roads safety at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, said Wednesday.

Jovanovic stated that the decision on the postponement of the implementation of the regulation governing the use of winter tires would be announced the next week. He added that such decision resulted from earlier consultations between Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Milutin Mrkonjic and Minister of Police Ivica Dacic.
