The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has proposed that the current governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Jorgovanka Tabakovic, run this highest financial institution in the country again, in her third mandate, Nova.rs reports today. As said in the proposition which was sent from Vucic’s cabinet to the president of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabic, it is proposed that Tabakovic be NBS Governor in the third mandate as well.

The proposition will be discussed at the session of the National Assembly, which should be held next week.

The mandate of the governor of the NBS lasts six years.

Tabakovic was elected governor in 2012 and, in the meantime, became the governor with the second longest total mandate. Only Djordje Vajfert served longer as governor, the portal writes.
