Construction works on Corridor 10 in Serbia, on the highway section between Prosek near Nis and Crvena Reka in the municipality of Bela Palanka, 23 kilometers long, should commence until the year's end, the company Koridori Srbije announced at the opening of the financial part of tender bids submitted by 12 companies and consortia.

These bids have been submitted by construction companies from Serbia, Italy, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Austria, Spain, Greece and other countries, and their validity will be analyzed in the following period.

The Tender Commission was unable to declare the most favorable bidder immediately after the bids were opened due to a calculation error made by one of the bidders from Greece - a consortium of companies Actor and Terna, so that the most favorable bidders for each of three lots will be announced in the following period, after the previous assessment by the Tender Commission and the approval of the procedure by the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Companies have submitted bids for each lot and for all three lots and offered various discounts, depending on the variants for execution of that job.

The first lot includes the route and bridges along Prosek-Bancarevo section, 9.4 km long, full profile and construction of 10 bridges.

The second lot includes the route and bridges between Bancarevo and Crvena Reka, which is a section 13.1 km long, full profile and construction of five bridges, whereas the third lot includes construction of Bancarevo tunnel, which will have two tunnel pipes and two traffic lanes, with a total length of about 750 meters.

Koridori Srbije Director Mihajlo Misic said to the press that Koridori Srbije would do its best to check financial bids as soon as possible and determine who offered the lowest price.

Three bids have been submitted by companies from Serbia: Gemax, in a consortium with Azerbaijan's Azvirt, Putevi Uzice, in a consortium with Czech's OHL ZS, and Energoprojekt Niskogradnja, in a consortium with Austria's Alpine.

This section of Corridor 10 is to be built in 720 days, and the works will be financed by the European Investment Bank.

The eastern arm of the road route of Corridor 10 through Serbia, from Prosek to Dimitrovgrad, that is, the Bulgarian border, is 83 kilometers long.
