A newly built six-hectare aqua park was opened on Sunday (September 18, 2011) within the luxury congress hotel Izvor in Arandjelovac. Alco Group invested EUR 7 million in the first phase of works.
According to the words of Miroljub Aleksic, president of Alco Group, the part of the aqua park that is now opened is big enough for 5,000 visitors, whereas the entire complex with all accompanying facilities will be completely finished in spring, and it will cost a total of EUR 8.5 million.
- In order to complete the most complex part of the aqua park, between 230 and 250 people are working on the building site every day. At the moment, all 12 water slides for adults are available for use (the longest of which is 120 meters long, whereas the highest is 22 meters high), as well as eight attractions for children - said Aleksic.
What has also been built is a parking lot for 430 cars. A playground with an amphitheater, tennis courts, a restaurant with national cuisine, a fast food restaurant, and a pastry shop will be completed until the next season, while one hectare within this complex is reserved for some new attractions, Aleksic announced.
This aqua park is an additional facility within the five-star spa and wellness hotel Izvor, which will now, with a new and enriched offer, make Bukovicka spa resort a more desirable tourist destination for both local and foreign guests.
- It took Izvor hotel only nine months to become a respectable center of congress tourism, not only in Serbia, but also outside the country - said Aleksic.
- Our guests are now mainly foreigners, which is surprising. Most of them are Russians. In spite of that, we should continue to work on our promotion because we have it all: infrastructure, level, quality and one-of-a-kind spa and wellness center in a broad region - Aleksic concluded.
