Telenor to introduce new telecommunications network in 2012

The company Telenor in Serbia announced that it would completely renew the telecommunications network until February 2012, which would then be able to support even the most advanced services and instruments.

At a press conference in Belgrade, which was organized on the occasion of Telenor's fifth anniversary of operations in Serbia, the company's representatives said that the network in Vojvodina and Belgrade had already been renewed, whereas the network in western Serbia was expected to be renewed until November 2011.

Sasa Filipovic, a representative of Telenor, stressed that the new, "smart" network would also be able to support the LTE system of the fourth generation of mobile phones.

Representatives of Telenor did not specify exactly how much money was invested in the development of the new network because the project implementation was still underway, but they said that the investment was worth tens of millions of euros.
