Million euros for water treatment plant in Mol - IPA cross-border cooperation project between Ada and Hungarian town of Morahalom

Hungary and Serbia are implementing the joint project Waterprotection under the slogan "Good Neighbors Together Create The Future". This joint project worth EUR 1 million, which will be provided from the funds of the European Union, envisages the construction of a state-of-the-arts biological wastewater treatment plant on the territory of Mol for the needs of the settlement Ada, whereas Morahalom is going to get a public utility truck for sewerage maintenance.

Zoltan Bilicki, mayor of the municipality of Ada, Laszlo Czanyi, deputy mayor of Morahalom, and their associates agreed on the details of implementation of aforementioned project, which is very significant for both local self-governments. Members of teams of this IPA programme are in constant contact, thus achieving a greater efficiency in the project implementation. The value of the EUR 1 million donation for the joint project of Ada and Morahalom is the largest individual amount of a donation by the EU under the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme

According to the words of Ada Mayor Zoltan Bilicki, construction of a wastewater treatment plant on the territory of Mol, which should be finished in early 2012, will enable the treatment of wastewater from about 3,000 households in Ada and Mol. In that way, this wastewater will be prevented from polluting the land and surface and subterranean waters on this territory. Works on the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Mol are being carried out by a consortium of companies from Belgrade and Ada.
