Increase in number of permits for Serbian transporters in international road cargo traffic agreed with Netherlands

An increase in the number of permits for Serbian transporters in international road cargo transport, by 15%, has been agreed with the Netherlands, announced the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

As the competent ministry announced, that is the result of the meeting of the Serbian-Dutch Mixed Commission for Road Transport of Passengers and Cargo, which was held in Belgrade at the request of the Serbian side.

Vesic specified that it had been agreed for 4,600 individual and 400 temporary universal permits to be exchanged from 2025, which is an increase by 600 permits compared to the current number, unchanged for nine years.

It was also agreed for an additional 600 individual permits for 2024 to be delivered to Serbian transporters, Vesic added.

– I am satisfied that we have successfully completed these negotiations as well, because the agreed number of permits will enable normal traffic in the coming years as well – Vesic said.

At the meeting, according to the announcement, issues of bilateral goods exchange and participation of road transport in this exchange were considered, as was the draft of the new bilateral road transport agreement and the transport of cargo in the territories of the two states, passenger transport and other issues regarding the road transport in the territories of Serbia and the Netherlands.

– The results of the meeting, when it comes to the number of permits for cargo transport which will be exchanged in 2024 and the coming years, are a result of the continuation of the good cooperation of Serbia and the Netherlands in the field of road transport – said Vesic.
