President of Serbia, Boris Tadić, spoke to the president of Nortel, Mike Zafirovski, about possibilities of presentation of that telecommunications company from Canada in southeast Europe.
Zafirovski informed Tadić that that company, which is one of the world leaders in field of telecommunications and it is present in more than 150 countries all around the world, intends to open five offices in southeast Europe during the next few weeks, while the biggest and the most important of all them would be opened in Belgrade.
President of Serbia backed this project and pointed out that the technology of Nortel was required for development of Serbia and its breakthrough to the group of countries with highly developed telecommunications.
Tadić has especially supported opening of Nortel's center for economic development, which will, according to the words of Zafirovski, deal with the attraction of foreign companies to the market of Serbia.
At the same time, this center would enable Serbian companies to use Nortel's resources and opportunity for presentation in the countries in which Nortel has already developed business.
Nortel is ready to start cooperation with the universities in Serbia on issues related to training and specialization of domestic personnel in field of telecommunications and software development.
