First Belgrade's Energy Summit "Balkanian oil pipelines – when and where" to gather about 150 participants from country and abroad on April 10, 2006 in Sava center

The first energy summit "Balkanian oil pipelines – when and where", which will take place on April 10 in Belgrade, will gather 150 participants from the country and abroad.

In addition to power supply companies from the countries in the region, the participation in the summit was also announced by companies from Texas, Japan, Norway, England, Austria, Italy and Germany. Also, the representatives of Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil will take part in the the meeting.

Two important projects that will be discussed on the summit are Pan-European Oil Pipeline (PEOP), which will be passing through Serbia, and Nabuko gas pipeline, on which Serbia will be able to connect after construction of the second alternative direction Niš-Dimitrovgrad.

"Due to strategically important position, especially when we talk about Pan-European oil pipeline, our country has the advantage that should be used. That is one of the reasons for quickening of negotiations about construction of very important regional oil pipeline PEOP –Pan European Oil Pipeline. This oil pipeline with the capacity that exceeds 50 million tons of oil per year and with the length of about 1,000 km will be supplying two biggest world oil consumers - EU and USA", said Zorana Mihajlović Milanović, councillor for energy of vice-president of the Government of Serbia.

The organizer of the entire event is electronic weekly magazine"EnergyObserver". There will be many investors on the summit, as well as some of the chiefs of European Bank for Rehabilitation and Development (EBRD).
