TV station RTL is not disqualified from the competition for national TV frequency in Serbia, public communication and discussion - new rule

"RTL network is not disqualified from the open competition for allotment of national frequencies, but the remark about its ownership structure with prohibited amount of foreign assets is the statement that will be taken into consideration during selection of candidates for the broadcasting licenses", said president of the Council of Republic Radio-Diffusion Agency Nenad Cekić.

He said that the Council would start voting in three weeks and that the legal deadline for making decision was three months from the expiration of the deadline for applications.

Public talks with the candidates for the most attractive licenses for broadcasting on 5 national television frequencies in Serbia have started with the representatives of Radio-Diffusion Agency. RTL was the first collocutor. On that occasion, businessman Vuk Hamović was present. He is one of the owners of partner company of RTL in Serbia – "Mali kolektiv", which is registered on the British Virgin Islands.
