Memorandum for reconstruction of Kraljeva vinarija signed

In the space of Kraljeva vinarija in Topola, the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Municipality of Topola and the German GIZ, which marks the beginning of the works on the reconstruction of Kraljeva vinarija, has been signed.

On behalf of the Municipality of Topola, the memorandum was signed by the president of the municipality, Vladimir Radojkovic, whereas, on behalf of GIZ, as the carrier of the realization of the project, the memorandum was signed by Aleksandar Betz, the head of the program at GIZ. It is expected for this historic event for the municipality of Topola, because the reconstruction of the winery is precisely that, to be completed by the end of August this year, according to the website of the municipality.


The investment is worth around EUR 1.2 million. The designer of the reconstruction project, the architect Nebojsa Glisic, introduced those present to the details of the reconstruction.

The planned works include: the reconstruction of the roofs, architectural and civil engineering works, energy installations, fire installations and hydro installations. On its side, the Municipality of Topola has secured the architectural and construction project and the building permit for the execution of the construction works.

The parties to the agreement are realizing cooperation to the end of the realization of the project #EUzaTebe – “EU za kulturno nasleđe i turizam” (EUforYou – “EU for Cultural Heritage and Tourism”) in the direction of the development of tourism as an important commercial potential for the economic development of eastern Serbia and the lower Danube.

The aim of the project is to contribute to the EU program “EU or Competitiveness through Innovations and Development of Tourism”, and especially regarding the improvement of: tourism/cultural features and the skills of the interested parties as part of the implementation of the strategy of the development of tourism.

In line with this result, a special goal of this action is: “The Improvement of the Tourism Offer in the Lower Danube Region in Serbia”, as part of the implementation of the Strategy of Tourism Development of Serbia.

Vinariju je podigao kralj Aleksandar I Karađorđević 1931. godine. Od kraja II svetskog rata pa do 2007. godine nije bila u funkciji, a od tada ponovo proizvodi vina isključivo iz sopstvenih zasada. U sklopu vinarije nalazi se i muzejska postavka i originalna jedinstvena vinoteka. Vina se čuvaju na 12 metara dubine u kraljevskom podrumu na Oplencu. Vinoteku čine oko 280 flaša iz doba kada su srpski kraljevi u Topoli gajili lozu i proizvodili vino.

Ova vina nisu na prodaju zbog amaneta kralja Aleksandra, koji je u dvorskim knjigama ostavio zaveštanje da se „nikada ne prodaju, već da budu ostavljena za istoriju“.

Vina u ovoj kolekciji nalaze se pod ključem na drugom nivou ispod zemlje. Smeštena su iza rešetaka na metalne police. Najstarije je „žilavka“ iz 1931. godine, a najmlađe vino staro je 55 godina. Veruje se da su neke od ovih boca lično arhivirali srpski kraljevi. Vina su u flašama izrađenim u tri veličine, sa utisnutim kraljevskim grbom u staklu. Boce su naručivane iz Italije i Češke, a etikete su ručno rađene i danas zbog svoje krhkosti ne smeju ni da se dodirnu. (Vinske ture)
