National Bank of Serbia and Rakuten Viber discussing possible cooperation in instant payments

NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković met today with representatives of the company Rakuten Viber to discuss possible avenues of cooperation in connecting the functionalities of the Viber application and the NBS IPS system, to the benefit of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

The NBS IPS system was launched in 2018, the first in the region and among the first in the world.

– Today, more than four million users of mobile banking applications in Serbia can make instant payments in a simple, fast and secure way. The integration of the instant payments system with advanced communication technologies enhances the opportunities for growth and development of the functionalities our IPS system provides to merchants, consumers and businesses with a view to making further advances in a dynamic digital environment – it is said on the NBS website.
