Year-on-year inflation in in Serbia in March at 5%, month-on-month 0.3%

Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in March 2024 in relation to February 2024 increased by 0.3%, on average, and consumer prices in March 2024 increased by 5% in relation to March 2023, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Consumer prices, by which inflation is measured, in March 2024 in relation to December 2023 increased by 1.1%. Observed by main groups according to the destination of consumption, in March 2024 in relation to the previous month, an increase of prices was noted in the groups Communication (2.9%), Restaurants and hotels (0.6%), Health (0.5%), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco and Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (each by 0.3%).

The groups Transport (0.2%) and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Education (each by 0.1%) also recorded an increase of prices.

Decrease of prices was noted in the group Recreation and culture (-0.7%).
