Lucic: Telekom Ready to Implement 5G Network in Serbia, Signing of Agreement with American Exim Bank Planned for This Year Too

Vladimir Lucic, the CEO of Telekom Srbija, has pointed out that the company is ready to implement the 5G network in Serbia, with the European Investment Bank as the strategic partner. He announced that an agreement with the American Exim Bank would be signed in 2024 as well, whereby Telekom would become the first operator in Europe with that kind of an agreement.

– On the other hand, we are strategic partners with Vodafone, which is the fastest growing 5G network in Europe and with which we will work on a fast implementation of a range of digital services, so that the end-users would feel the benefits of this technology – pointed out Lucic.

As he added, it is also very important that, in the past five years, Telekom has had a very strong investment cycle of the construction of an optical network and new base stations for the 4G technology.

– All this will enable a quicker construction of the 5G network in the whole territory of Serbia immediately upon obtaining the permits – he said.

Lucic also noted that Telekom would especially prepare for EXPO 2027, because the company saw the event as a remarkable opportunity for everybody in the TC and IT industry, but also an excellent opportunity for a strong development of the Serbian economy and promotion of the country.
