Petroland to comprise 20 water attractions - Balkans' largest aqua park opens in late August 2011 in Backi Petrovac


Petroland in Backi Petrovac, the largest and most modern aqua park in the Balkans, will receive the first guests in late August this year, eKapija learns.
Jan Brtka, director of L&B Park, an affiliate of the project investor - Aqua Therm Invest, told us that the first phase of construction of the tourist and recreation complex was close to end.
- Exciting water slides, unique swimming pools for children and adults, whitewater rafting, relax pools, sand sports... This is only part of the offer of this summer aqua park. Over 20 water attractions are situated on an area of about 6 hectares - Brtka said and added that all swimming pools were filled with thermal water from a well in the vicinity of the complex.
According to the words of our interlocutor, construction of the indoor section of the complex will commence in October 2011.
- This will be one of the largest and most modern aqua parks in Europe and it will be open 24 hours a day during the whole year.
The complex will comprise a bicycle trail, a mini golf course, as well as courts for tennis, basketball, handball, footballs, thus making it possible for athletes to practise for various competitions. According to the investor's earlier announcements, construction of a five-star hotel near the entrance to the aqua park is also in the pipeline.
Petroland will span 20 hectares and cost about EUR 21 million.
