IMF Mission in Belgrade at the end of May 2006

Governor of National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Radovan Jelašić, announced that the Mission of International Monetary Fund (IMF) would come to Belgrade at the end of May and that it should estimate macroeconomic situation in Serbia and determine whether taken obligations were fulfilled.
These obligations mainly relate to reduction of total public expenses by at least 1% of gross national product, limitation of rise of salaries in public companies and at local level, continuation of privatization process in banks and announcement of tenders for privatization of refineries.
The delegation of NBS will meet chiefs of IMF and World Bank during the annual assembly in Washington, which will be held from April 21 to April 24.
