Take a Look at the Progress of the Construction of the Laz Tunnel – First Two Asphalt Layers in the Second Half of the Tunnel to Be Completed by the End of March

In the right tube of the Laz Tunnel on the highway section from Preljina to Pozega, the works on electrical and mechanical and telecommunications equipping of the tunnel are in progress. The works are split into two phases – the works which are done before the application of the first asphalt layer and the works after the application of that layer, when the fine equipment is mounted.

Vladimir Petrovic, the head of supervision of the works in the Laz Tunnel, has stated that, in both tunnel tubes, 147,995 meters of cable holders, or 82%, have been installed, as announced on the YouTube channel of the PE Roads of Serbia.

– The holders are installed in the arch of the tunnel and horizontal cable canals, and the cabinets have been installed in the SOS alcoves, as well as several types of cabinets for electrical energy and telecommunications installations – said Petrovic.

In the left tunnel tube of the Laz Tunnel, according to him, the works on the remaining 70 meters of the secondary timbering and the preparation of the first asphalt layer are in progress at the moment.

– At the moment, 1,200 meters have been done, and by the end of March, the plan is for the works on the first two asphalt layers of the structure to be completed in the second half of the tunnel in both tubes, which is the pre-condition for the mounting of the fine equipment and which is expected to happen by the end of March – announced Petrovic.
