The district will spread on 4.5 ha, with close of 62,000 m2 and another 23,000 m2 of garages.
Three memoranda of understanding were also signed between the Government of Serbia and the three future users of the Innovation District – the Dutch company AET, the Japanese company Toshiba and Banka Postanska stedionica. On behalf of the government, the memoranda were signed by minister Mihailo Jovanovic.
The Innovation District is the new, third phase of the construction of the State Data Center and, as announced, it will be a unique complex of information, innovative, creative and digital industries in Serbia and the region.
The investment will be realized in several phases, and EUR 20 million is to be invested now in the construction of the first building.
In the first phase, a facility of 4,700 m2 and nearly 10,000 m2 of garages are being built.
The Srbija2027 website says that the deadline for the construction of the first phase is the end of 2025, whereas the second phase should be completed at the end of 2027.
A special place within the district will belong to the National Center for Information Security (cyber security), and the district will also feature a separate space for IT (business incubators, startups, a part for the implementation of artificial intelligence, a center for the development of robotics), a smart city center for the development of smart energy systems, the connecting of smart infrastructure into a network, the center for the promotion of digitization, a part for bioinformatics and bioengineering, with a space for research and laboratories.
